A municipality was planning to overhaul their caustic solution system in less than five years. Their current structures included two fiberglass chlorine scrubbers that were about 10 years old. These vessels were both 30’ in diameter and 27’ tall and had considerable corrosive attack to the liner and structural portions of the fiberglass laminate. The customer did not want to replace these tanks since they would soon be obsolete considering the scheduled renovation.

A chemical company was looking to replace badly deteriorated steel handrails and grating on their hot process brine structure with new fiberglass handrails and grating. This type of installation can bring confusion and difficulty because field modifications are almost always required to complete the project properly.
